Our stakeholders are those who are affected by or affect our business. We actively engage with these groups to find better ways to reduce our impact and make our business more competitive and sustainable.

Customers and consumers

  • Our cutting-edge processing and packaging equipment keeps food from being spilled or spoilt in the early stages of production, while our packaging solutions prolong the life of food and help prevent it from perishing
  • We actively engage customers around responsible supply chains, for example through our sustainable forestry commitments
  • We support school feeding programmes and Dairy Hubs through our Food for Development initiative
  • Our DEEPER IN THE PYRAMID offering makes food more affordable and available to low-income households
  • We promote consumer engagement in recycling
  • Best practice partnerships promote transparency, including Sedex, CDP and EcoVadis

Suppliers

  • Our approach to responsible sourcing requires that all suppliers commit to our Business Code of Conduct, based on the UNGC principles around environment, labour, anti-corruption and human rights
  • We ask suppliers to disclose sustainability attributes through Sedex and conduct annual audits of key supplier operations and environmental performance
  • Our long-term ambition is that all our packaging material will be made from 100% renewable materials. Our sourcing of packaging materials includes stricter criteria for sustainable production, traceability and verification

Partners

  • Our engagements with governmental, non-governmental, industry and multi-stakeholder initiatives are extensive and varied. We are formally committed to over 20 such partnerships.

Rewiring the Economy

Along with a select group of other leading, forward-looking companies, Tetra Pak is involved with the Rewiring the Economy Inquiry Group, which was formed by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership to explore key questions relating to the role of business in delivering the 17 SDGs by 2030.

The project is aligned with SDG 17 to "strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development". Last year, the group published Rewiring the Economy: Ten tasks, ten years. The report concludes that leading companies have both the appetite and ability to set the stage for change and reap the commercial benefits of delivering the SDGs. ​
