Tetra Pak’s design concept for separators, with its closed, airtight (or hermetic) system, eliminates the limitations of open (also known as semi-open) separators. The airtight system means a process that is gentler on your liquid, and one that slashes energy consumption by as much as half.
For example, a Tetra Pak AirTight separator for hot-milk separation with a capacity of about 55,000 litres per hour, fitted with a low-pressure system, consumes approximately 24kW. A comparable traditional semi-open separator consumes about 50kW. This potential to cut energy costs by up to half is created by the closed airtight system, which reduces friction and therefore requires less energy.
Modern separators are of two types: semi-open and closed (or airtight). Download the infographic to read about the five key ways an airtight separator could benefit your business.
