Tetra Pak-kicks-off-this-years-Carton-Challenge

Lund, Sverige (August 29, 2024): Tetra Pak kicks off the 2024-2025 Carton Challenge, a recycling competition for children in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. Organized over the past 13 years in collaboration with its partners, the challenge is open to all pre-school and school children up to 12 years of age.

With the aim of spreading knowledge and boosting commitment among young people on the environment and recycling, Tetra Pak is organizing this competition with support from Arla, Skånemejerier, Norrmejerier, Kivik, Fiskeby Board, Eckes Granini (God Morgon), Eckes Granini/Marli Juissi, Naturli, Co-Ro (Sun-Lolly), Rynkeby, Fazer Aito and Rinki.

Berit Hoffman, Marketing Director of Tetra Pak North Europe is delighted to kick off this year’s competition:

"The Carton Challenge has inspired many children across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland to embrace the importance of recycling carton packaging. By fostering a deeper understanding and enthusiasm for recycling, we are shaping the next generation's commitment to sustainability. Carton packaging, when recycled, becomes a valuable resource for new products, and through this initiative, children are not only learning vital environmental practices but also becoming powerful advocates for change in their own homes.”

The Carton Challenge consists of five different challenges that can be completed at any time during the competition period. For example, one of the challenges involve designing a recycling campaign to encourage people to recycle more. Participants can choose when to complete the challenges and whether to do just one, two, or all of them.

Winners will be drawn after the closing date, and each completed challenge will earn one entry into the prize draw, with prizes divided between nursery/pre-school, grades 1-3, and grades 4-6. The prices are:

  • In Sweden: Nursery/pre-school, and class F-3 gets SEK 10,000 for a greener pre-school/school. Class 4-6 gets SEK 10 000 for an experience.

  • In Finland: Nursery/pre-school, and class 1-3 gets EUR 800 for a greener pre-school/school. Class 4-6 gets EUR 800 for an experience.

  • In Denmark: Nursery/pre-school, and class 0-3 gets DKK 7,000 for a greener pre-school/school. Class 4-6 gets DKK 7,000 for an experience.

Everyone who participates in the Carton Challenge will receive a diploma from Tetra Pak in recognition of their efforts, along with a trophy.

This year’s Carton Challenge will run until the 13th of April for Finland and Sweden, and until the 11th of May for Denmark.
