“No one else in the world is doing what we’re doing.” The innovative mind of a former fisherman led to the start of a lactose-free dairy, Arna, in the north-western corner of Iceland.
Iceland is a very small market, so from the start the Arna dairy has made it their hallmark to think differently to thrive and find new business opportunities. This includes having to come up with unusual technical solutions to create products that stick out from the crowd. Founder Hálfdán Óskarsson continues to think outside of the box and has created a whole new plant-based skyr-style product. Skyr is a healthy yoghurt snack that is high in protein and low in fat content. But the oat-based product range demanded a whole new way of thinking in terms of technology.
