Your recruitment journey1

1. Apply for the right role

A good place to start is by joining our Talent Community. You can create a profile with all your information, upload your CV and receive notifications as soon as matching job roles are posted. Once you find a job that you’d like to apply for, make sure your CV highlights your fit the role – and grabs the recruiter’s attention. Think about the words you use and be as clear and specific as you can. Try and show your personality, too. Once your application is submitted, you’ll hear from us shortly (we promise we always get back to you). 2. Initial call or online video interview/assessment

Depending on the role you applied for, you may receive a short phone call from a recruiter or an email invitation to an online video interview. For some positions, you will be asked to record your answers to questions in a specific format. Once you submit your video interview, the recruiter will review the recording. You can take the interview when and where it’s convenient for you. We recommend you choose a quiet place with good light and no background noise. You’ll be sent full instructions beforehand to help you prepare. If you require any additional support to help you complete the online video interview please let us know.

3. First interview

You’ll receive an email invitation to schedule either an in-person or virtual interview with the hiring manager (or team). Once that’s confirmed you’ll want to go through everything we’ve mentioned and make sure you’re fully prepared. Remember to read up on Tetra Pak and the role you’re applying for and know who you’re meeting. Take a look at our interview advice below for more tips. 4. Complete any assessments

For most roles, we use assessment tools that are designed to assess specific role requirements. Assessments are your opportunity to demonstrate your skills, rather than just telling us. If you’re applying for a Future Talent or Service Engineering position, it’s likely you will be asked to complete an Ability Test. These are typically timed tests that you can complete online in your own time. For all roles you may be asked to complete a personality questionnaire and/or a work simulation exercise. Work simulations are designed to simulate a particular task relevant to the work you may do. You will receive detailed information from your recruiter about any assessments you will be expected to complete.

5. Second interview

If you make it to this stage, we’d like to meet with you for a final time. It’s an opportunity to get to know you better, and for you to get to know us better. You may meet with the hiring manager again. Take this as an opportunity to really dig into the expectations of the job, or their leadership style as a manager. You could also meet the hiring manager’s line manager. In some cases, you may also have a meet and greet with your potential new colleagues and stakeholders. If you have an in-person meeting at one of our locations, ask for a tour of your potential new work area!

6. Receive an offer

Congratulations for making it to the final step and receiving an offer. If you’ve made it to this stage, we hope you’ll accept our offer since we believe you’re the best candidate for the position. Once you accept the offer, your recruiter and new line manager will plan your onboarding journey. We want to ensure that you get the best start possible. You will also be provided with access to several on and offline resources that help you to be successful in your new role – so you can start making an impact to be proud of.

Preparing for an interview

Tetra Pak interview questions follow a style know as competency-based interviewing (CBI). This method of interviewing helps us learn about how you have used specific skills in your previous work, how you approach problem-solving or tasks, how you manage and overcome challenges and how you work with others.

Tips and advice

Add keywords to your CV
We look for keywords in your application that match the required skills for the position you applied for. So, make sure you take the time to update your CV to reflect the role.

Build your LinkedIn profile
If you don’t have one already, it’s worth setting up a LinkedIn profile to build your professional network and help you get noticed. Make sure your profile is complete and keep work experience relevant. Once you’re set up, join in conversations, and share industry-relevant content to show your interests.

Take time to prepare
At every stage of the process, we’d recommend taking time to prepare. Before you apply, research Tetra Pak and the role: what makes it the right role for you? Make sure that comes through in your application. If you make it to the interview stage, use our interview tips below to help you prepare.

Think about your strengths

To prepare you might want to think about your superpowers – the areas you excel in – and the areas which need more development. You could also write an ‘elevator pitch’ to get comfortable talking about your achievements. Imagine you had two minutes in an elevator to sell yourself: what would you say?

In response to an interviewer-led question, your answer should ideally follow the STARR methodology: – S: Describe the ‘Situation’, – T: Provide details on particular ‘Tasks’ that were part of the Situation – A: Describe the ‘Actions’ that you took – R: Explain the final ‘Result’ – R: How you ‘Reflect’ on the situation after it happened

In-person interviews

We organise the interviews in different ways depending on the role and practicalities. If we’re meeting you in-person don’t forget to make any practical preparations. What do you need to bring? Have you planned your journey? Do you know the interviewer’s name? Be as well-prepared as you can to give yourself the best opportunity.

Virtual interviews

We use a few different online meeting tools, so you’ll receive an invitation email with a link to your interview beforehand. Make sure you check your tech is all working and make sure your surroundings are calm, light and quiet. To join the meeting, click on the link in the email. You may need to enter your name and email address. Make sure the computer’s sound is on and click on the microphone icon to share audio. We recommend that you use a headset or headphones.
