The Tetra Pak® Continuous Sugar Dissolver continuously dissolves crystalline sugar in water up to a concentration of 65°Brix with output capacities of 7,000, 15,000 and 25,000 litres per hour – for use in the production of still drinks, carbonated beverages, ketchup, jam, confectionary products, formulated dairy products and more.
The hydraulic conveying solution minimizes your investment and operational costs and lets you place your sugar dissolver more flexibly in your plant layout. On top of that, our patented injector technology and efficient radial jet mixer enable lower dissolving temperatures, letting you reduce energy consumption and costs by 25%. And you get guaranteed Brix accuracy, for exact dosing, while securing long-term sustainability.
Injector and radial jet mixer technology
Our patented injector system enables hydraulic conveying but it also reduces energy consumption overall. Due to the immediate wetting of sugar and the high turbulence as soon as the sugar touches the water stream.
Once the sugar has passed the injection point, it is conveyed hydraulically to a radial jet mixer, which provides enough turbulence inside the dissolving tank to keep the sugar crystals in abeyance and dissolve them efficiently. This allows us to lower the dissolving temperature and, thus, the energy consumption.
Flexible integration and placement
Hydraulic conveying lets you locate sugar feeding points independently from where your dissolver is located. This lets you handle several types of feeding equipment. It’s equally easy to take sugar in directly from a silo, Big Bag station or even a feeding hopper.
On top of that, you can choose to include more than one feeding point in an iterative process into the recirculation line. Since you can place the Tetra Pak® Continuous Sugar Dissolver in an independent area, you no longer need to worry about ATEX requirements for the dissolving unit itself, thus saving you from having to make additional investments.
Advanced °Brix set point control
Since this unit constantly measures the sugar concentration directly inline, you always have full control of the water to sugar ratio. Rather than overdosing and diluting at a later stage, this solution maintains the optimal temperature for the exact amount of sugar you need to dissolve – thereby saving energy and raw materials. Since the process is continuous and eliminates the need for manual sampling, it also saves on operator time.
Automatic filling in destination tank
Automatic filling makes the Tetra Pak® Continuous Sugar Dissolver very easy to operate. When the sugar solution is at the right °Brix, the flow is automatically diverted to the destination tank. When the destination tank is full, the Tetra Pak® Continuous Sugar Dissolver stops. As the sugar solution is pumped away for use in production, the level drops and an operator can start up the Tetra Pak® Continuous Sugar Dissolver again. Alternatively, it can be controlled automatically.
