At Tetra Pak, end-to-end solutions go far beyond the factory floor – we offer so much more than just processing solutions. We start with understanding the fundamental challenge itself, and with over 40 years of expertise and in-depth knowledge in soya, we are a trusted advisor and partner to food and beverage manufacturers looking to expand into whole soya.
Tetra Pak is a true strategic partner, and uniquely placed to share expertise from innovation trends and consumer data through to idea generation, prototypes, product development and eventual launch. And this know-how extends beyond process engineering and goes end-to-end, covering insights from raw material sourcing to consumer demands, wider societal trends, and all processes in between. We have a deep understanding of food technology and how ingredients and equipment interact. We combine this expertise with our state-of-the-art infrastructure at our Product Development Centres (PDC). PDCs allow our customers to take new concepts and prototypes and scale them up in a cost-effective way in a commercial manufacturing environment by applying the principles of food tech, industrial engineering, and food product commercialisation.
Our PDCs are also uniquely integrated facilities – from extraction all the way to aseptic packaging – which allows the products to be used for a variety of validation purposes (e.g., consumer testing or shelf-life tests). During testing, our food tech and process engineers work alongside our customer’s teams to ensure the development plan is well designed and executed, keeping commercial scale-up in mind. And once the product and process are finalised, our engineers can configure our customer’s own industrial line to deliver the same product consistently and efficiently.
This integrated, end-to-end approach delivers smooth project execution and vertical ramp-up of capacity, enabling customers to derive the maximum benefit from their investment, alongside peace of mind.
Tetra Pak is the leading company for whole bean soya line solutions. We have developed our best-practice line solution through nearly five years of R&D, and built up our know-how and expertise thanks to hundreds of pilot trials and extensive experience running commercial lines (we have developed more than ten commercial lines either currently running or due to start soon). This means our customers receive a mature, reliable line, and need not worry about potential issues and problems related to immature solutions.
Our whole bean soya best-practice line can be a new line or modifications to an existing soya beverage line (upgrading is a relatively straightforward process). The best-practice line can also be extended to other wholesome plant-based beverages, such as nuts and grains, with minimal modifications. As such, our customers can produce a much wider range of products with very limited investment, which represents good value for money.
With several years of experience in whole soya, and over four decades of experience with soya in general, we have learnt how to maintain full control over each and every step in the soya beverage process – we understand what is happening, why it is happening, and can therefore monitor all the required quality parameters.
Our tailored service solutions don’t just help our customers to overcome operational challenges and achieve tangible results on performance, quality, and food safety – they also guarantee your operational costs and overall equipment effectiveness. And our expert service engineers analyse and benchmark operational performance, improve total asset utilisation, and support Total Productive Maintenance implementation. This is why our customers rely on and trust our expertise and our solutions.
When it comes to whole soya products, sustainability is one of their key advantages. There are many ways we can support our customers’ efforts to mitigate their impact on climate change – with whole soya, there are considerable savings to be made in terms of waste reduction, water use, and energy consumption thanks to our innovations in processing and our end-to-end solutions. This technology also resonates with the larger vision of better utilising the planet’s existing food resources, so we are able to feed the ever-growing population in the years to come.

Our range of plant-based packages and caps is another key element when it comes to supporting our customers’ efforts to address climate change. We can help with branding and storytelling, and how customers can communicate effectively with consumers. For example, in Europe and the US, the sustainability story is more established, and consumers are often more engaged, but in the Asia Pacific region, it’s more of an emerging topic. We’ve built a lot of content to support our customers in terms of market communication, and can help them better explain the benefits in this area to their consumers.
