Active cap positioning module
A ripping – or active cap positioning – module auto-adjusts the cap position prior to application. Sensors adapt each lid position to the neck on the package, ensuring a perfect fit every time and ensuring the line’s robustness in managing production variability. The module is fully automated, with no need for manual fine-tuning by the operator.
Agile capacity management
Agile capacity management makes it possible to run without over-capacity, which is typically needed to empty the line accumulator. Two servo motors drive a belt brake equipped with a photocell, allowing the capper to process packages at their speed of arrival, thereby avoiding queues. The result is higher productivity and lower wear and tear on components that do not have to run at overcapacity.
Three quality control layers
Three quality control layers ensure the highest quality standards. A cap quality check (CQC) unit (1) detects and ejects defective lids if they are missing alu-foil liner, are differently coloured or wrongly positioned or deformed. A control module (2) checks the quality of the weld of the cap onto the package and ejects non-compliant units. An integrated cap vision unit (3) checks packages for missing, rotated or tilted caps, which are ejected.
