What is Energy Recovery ?

To reduce carbon footprint, Energy Recovery Upgrade allows you to recover heat during pasteurization process that can be subsequently used to heat hot water used during the mixing/batching process.

Under normal circumstances, these two process will operate separately and consume energy to both heat and cool.

 heating and cooling processes

Using heat transfer methods, energy can be channeled to other purposes

WITH HOT AND COLD WATER TANKS
COLLECTION & REUSE OF GENERATED HEAT

1. In a food processing plant warm and cold water are used to heat and cool liquids during various phases.

2. Heat exchangers allow the energy to be recovered and used in other applications.

3. There is no standard solution for this. The heat recovery water system has to be customised for each case.

Collection reuse of generated heat

WITH HOT WATER AS STEAM COMPLEMENT
REDUCE HEATING BY STEAM

1. Enable the use of hot water as a complement to steam in pasteurizers and in the CIP central.

2. Steam consumption is reduced, but still needed as hot water is not sufficient to cover for the heat demand.

3. This is method is applicable if there is hot water available {e.g., heat pump)

4. Reduce usage of chemicals

AT MIXING
WHEN HEATING PRODUCT WATER

1. Save energy when heating the incoming feed of cold water to mixing tanks and when cooling the outgoing product feed to pasteuriser or UHT.

2. Utilize a two section PHE.

3. The first section is for regenerative heating the incoming water with outgoing product feed to the pasteuriser or UHT

4. The second section has ice water for final cooling of the outgoing product feed to the pasteuriser or UHT.
