With its low velocity, this vacuum dense-phase pneumatic conveying machine guarantees minimal product breakdown and gentle handling of fragile powders – while achieving large production output. The system does not require any upstream regulation device. The Tetra Pak® Pneumatic Conveyor VDP FD also features hygienic design and full cleanability.
Quick facts
Conveys fragile powders and granulated ingredients in vacuum dense phase.
Capacity
Receiving hopper volume: 300-2,000 litres.
Production throughput: Commonly used up to 7 tonnes/hour.
Low velocity
The low velocity of this vacuum dense-phase pneumatic conveying machine ensures minimal product breakdown and gentle handling of fragile powders. It also reduces fat migration, prevents loss of shininess in ingredients and enables homogeneity when conveying mixed products.
Handles high air volumes
Thanks to a large – 5m2 – filter surface area and PE with PTFE coating filtrating material, the Tetra Pak® Pneumatic Conveyor VDP FD can handle higher air volumes and achieve a fast and large production. A good powder flow is secured by fluidizing devices and smooth emptying of the hopper. All in all, this reduces TCO – product waste is cut by up to 50% during transportation and filtration.
High negative pressure
Thanks to the high negative pressure, the Tetra Pak® Pneumatic Conveyor VDP FD enables high capacity and a high product concentration at a low consumption of compressed air.
Operator safety
Easy access at standing height – the Tetra Pak® Pneumatic Conveyor VDP FD is designed for easy, ergonomic and safe operation. In addition, it maximizes safety by being explosion-proof.
Hygiene and cleanability
The completely dismountable filter is easy to clean, and the reverse jet filter is cleaned by air impulsions. The machine is designed according to EHEDG recommendations, and all components are food safety certified. And as there is no contact between moving parts and product, a high level of hygiene is secured.
Two conveying methods
The Tetra Pak® Pneumatic Conveyor VDP FD supports both continuous and batch conveying. In continuous conveying, the starting hopper empties while the reception hopper simultaneously and continuously discharges the powder to downstream equipment through a rotary valve.
In batch conveying, the reception hopper discharges the powder through a butterfly valve only once a set level of powder is reached.
