The Tetra Pak® Ice Cream Choice Filler A1 offers flexible modularity. It can fill the full range of ice cream products – everything from small cups and cones to large bulks – and can be tailored to specific needs, such as multi-flavour filling in complex patterns with rotation. It handles all kinds of inclusions and ripples. The machine features a compact design, high production capacity and low TCO. It is also designed for both optimal hygiene and operator safety.
Quick facts
For filling and decoration of everything from basic single-flavour to sophisticated multi-flavour ice cream products.
Capacity
Up to 57,600 products/hour (depending on product type)
Applications
Ice cream, sorbet and water-ice products.
Modular bolt-on frame
The filler is designed to meet customer needs for an optimized footprint in the production area. It is possible to modify the filler frame on-site to adapt the filler to new complex products, additional stations or changes in the production environment. A new segment of the frame, product chain and safety guarding can be added to the existing frame.
Dispenser options
The cup dispenser has a precise box-motion gripper and double interlock system to separate all kind of cups and tubs. Even hard-to-separate cups will be dispensed without having to rely on a vacuum system. For cone products, several options for dispensing are available: Cone and sleeves dispenser for pre-assembled cones and sleeves or separated sleeve- and cone/wafer-dispenser.
Tailored filling equipment
The Tetra Pak® Ice Cream Choice Filler A1 can be tailored to all types of products – from basic, single-flavour filling, to sophisticated multi-flavour filling in complex patterns with rotation. All kinds of inclusions and ripples can be handled. Precise dosing for minimal waste and overfilling is ensured by individually controlled fast-reacting pneumatic valves, or servo drives.
Exchangeable nozzles
A wide range of nozzles for attractive impulse- and take-home products are available. Changeover between different SKUs is fast, making it easy to adapt to market trends and seasonal products.
Wet topping
The dosing station for sauce comes in different versions. It can, for example, be heated for chocolate sauce, or feature a cut-off piston for sauce with fruit strings or chunks. The dosing station can be servo or pneumatically controlled.
Dry dosing dispensers
A large range of dry ingredients can be dosed on top of the ice cream filling and topping sauce. The volume is “time-elapse” adjustable from the recipe or volumetric by change parts.
Lid dispenser
The Lid dispenser dispenses and places the lid precisely on the cone, cup, tub or bulk container through a servo-controlled motion and cam following a 180° turn out of a magazine. For unstackable lids that are supplied by a lid unscrambler, a lid chute can be placed on the filler. An integrated lid control system secures maximal product safety and feedback to the filler control to initialize further action such as discharging the product.
Crimping station
The crimping station offers cone products high-level closing with cardboard or plastic lids of all shapes. Depending on packaging material and filler setup, the closing is done by a servo-controlled one- or two-step crimping station.
Product discharge
The product can be transferred either by a pick-and-place or a discharge conveyor. A 3-axis linear transfer unit can transfer cones and cups directly to a tray hardening tunnel. Tub and bulk products are discharged onto a conveyor. Thanks to the filler’s control system, individual products with defects can be discharged to a separate waste conveyor or bin. This ensures only good products are transferred to the downstream equipment.
